2013 Nikai Award Winner
David Carter, a Business Faculty at Sharjah Men’s College, received the Nikai Faculty Award for his project titled “Blended Technology to Support Self-Directed Learning”. In this project David has implemented e-learning strategies through digital textbooks and augmented reality which can be applied in higher education and corporate training. David has published an iBook and iTunes course in project management with more than 500 users world-wide.
The focus of Mr. Carter’s work at HCT has been in the area of Project Management education and specifically how innovative technologies can be used in this discipline. His interests include the use of mobile technologies for industry and education. Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Sharjah HCT Director, expressed her delight with this achievement, which clearly indicates the high standards that the Sharjah HCT has set for itself. “I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the winners for their accomplishments. I am confident that we will have many other winners in the coming years.” The winners were honored by HCT Chancellor, H.E. Mohammad Omran Al Shamsi, HCT Vice Chancellor, Dr. Tayeb Kamali and Nikai Chairman Paras Shahdadpuri for their accomplishments at the HCT Annual Conference and were presented with a certificate, a prize of $10,000(US), and an LCD TV offered by the Nikai Group. |
